What could bring residents from three states to a rural FultonCounty farm on a Sunday morning?   Would you believe cock-fighting, or an event that pitted fighting roosters against each other?           Just after 11am yesterday, the Fulton County Sheriff’s office, with assistance from Wauseon and Delta police, officers with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and the dog warden’s office converged on a property along road N near Delta in RoyaltonTownship.    Many subjects fled the property, but were later apprehended, and charged with Animal Fighting and being a spectator at an Animal Fight.   52 subjects were charged, and 72 live roosters were confiscated, along with other evidence.  Many of the offenders were from Michigan and Indiana.  Local charges were filed against 44 year old Nieto Candelario of Delta, 42 year old Steve Scott, Jr. of Oakwood, 20 year old Dakota Scott of Continental,  31 year old Rigaberto of Napoleon, 26 year old Raul Hernandez-Baez of Weston, and 35 year old Raul Silva of Lyons.

A call to the sheriff’s office tipped-off law officers about the illegal activity.
