A huge closing day wrapped-up the 2014 Henry County Fair, including the annual demolition derby. In fact there were so many visitors on Thursday, the milkshake stand ran out of ice cream by 8:30pm.
There were plenty of winners in the demolition derby, with Ed Taylor of OakHarbor taking the ‘smash-it’ series. Caleb Joy of Grelton placed runnerup. In the midget division, Cody Schwitzenberg of Napoleon took third place. The top truck in the derby was driven by Richard Hites of Tiffin, with James Rettig of Grelton taking 2nd place, and Mark Deroff of Kalida placing third. Tops in the Stock car category was Devan Allen of Lima, with Tyler Reiser of Deshler placing third.
And in the mower demo derby, the final machine standing was driven by Tyson Harper of Napoleon. Dalton Hosler of Ottawa took 2nd place in that division, and Jeff Webley of Napoleon placed third.
