After several tries, Deshler Council has found a buyer for the former Morrow property.  Jeff and Lori Vance purchased the home and parcel at the minimum bid of $200.   They are required to have the building brought down within in the next two years.

Deshler Council approved a couple of grant applications during their meeting Monday night.  $500,000 is being sought through the community development block grant program, to help fund the lagoon project.  A grant was also approved in an application for funds in the ‘nature-works’ program, which would help purchase new dugouts for Memorial Field.

Council approved a resolution to hire Jones and Henry for consulting work on the Keyser Street storm sewer project, at a cost of $50,000.  A grant will pay for half of that total.

And Deshler Council hired Brian Robinson as a full-time police officer in the village, to begin duties immediately.
