Damage is likely to top $25,000 from a fire that struck a farm in New Bavaria this (Fri) morning. Two outbuildings containing animals were completely destroyed, with the blaze reported around 5:15am. The location was the Tanya Martinez farm on HenryCounty road 18. Fire investigators are looking at some electrical heat lamps as a possible cause of the flames that killed about 100 chickens, along with a couple of goats, and some quail. Fire fighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to a larger barn that housed livestock. About 25 volunteers were on the scene for over 3 hours. New Bavaria, Holgate, and Ayersville all sent crews to the fire, along with Holgate EMS. No injuries were reported.
