In the near future, visitors and employees to the historic Henry County Courthouse will see uniformed sheriff’s deputies providing service on a full-time basis.   CountyCommissioners approved initiating the hiring process for two part-time deputies to handle those duties, at 25 hours per week for each.  The total cost for the county is estimated at just over $47,000.   These deputies would provide security in the event of trials, for the overall safety of employees, and provide information to visitors.


And the Henry County Commissioners approved the bill for their insurance coverage through the risk-sharing authority, at $94,301.  That figure is actually about $500 less than last year’s cost.


                        Bid documents are ready for a new chilling unit that would be installed in the courthouse.  That cost could hit $160,000, with proposals due on June 19th.                                                      The HenryCounty board approved a draw of nearly $14,000 from state funds for housing rehabilitation.  This money will be utilized for a resident to make improvements in McClure.


                 And the Henry County Commissioners went into executive session to discuss personnel; but no action was taken.
