The Henry County Commissioners have selected three projects for funding in the community development block grant program for 2014.  Seven total projects were submitted; but the communities of Ridgeville Corners, Deshler, and Malinta were approved for the formula dollars.

RidgevilleTownship is being recommended for a $28,000 grant to help construct a parking lot and sidewalks in the community.

The village of Deshler was allotted $10,000 for new concrete pads at the shelter and park entrances.

And the village of Malinta is slated to receive $22,000 for storm sewer construction on Henry Street.

The city of Napoleon had submitted a request for $30,000 for improvements to Union Street.  But although turned down by Henry County Commissioners, this project may qualify for state funding in the competitive grant program, at an even higher amount.
