The revenue reports from the golf course and swimming pool were reviewed by the NapoleonParks and Recreation Board Wednesday night. Both facilities and their operation are major parts of the overall parks and recreation budget in the city of Napoleon.
Golf Course revenue for this year is up by about $12,000 over last year, and up by about $27,000 over two years ago. Expenditures were also up at the golf course so far in 2014, by about $7,000. Beer sales and cart rentals were two areas that picked-up in revenue from the year before.
The swimming pool took-in about $800 less this year; but expenses for the pool operation were also down by about $4,000. Total revenue at the Napoleon swimming pool was down about 32% from two years ago.
The NapoleonParks and Rec board also looked-ahead at some potential capital improvement projects for next year. The list includes about $17,500 in needs at the golf course, over $31,000 in improvements at the swimming pool, along with repaving of the GlenwoodPark basketball court, replacement of a mower, and scoreboard replacement at the Oakwood ball diamonds.
The rec board also discussed extending the deadlines in signup for flag football and fall soccer, due to the late start-up school in Napoleon.
