The Patrick Henry school district will be looking for a new principal for their elementary buildings, after the resignation of Brad Cavelage.  That action took place at the Monday meeting of the Patrick Henry school board.   Cavelage is taking over a principal’s position in the Columbus Grove district, after working between the Deshler and Malinta buildings at Patrick Henry.            The Patrick Henry board also hired Laura Hetrick as secretary to the superintendent, along with accounts payable specialist.

Other personnel action by the Patrick Henry board included the hiring of a number of teachers and classified staff for the coming school year.   Continuing contracts were awarded to the following teachers:  Brad Ellerbrock, Brian Fruchey, Beth Hoops, Tabitha Maas, Marie Myers, and Cristin Sunderman.           Three year contracts were approved for Teresa Brown and Glenn McKee.

The Patrick Henry school board discussed a new grading scale for the district, making the number grade to achieve an ‘A’ between 90 and 100%.  The previous scale was 93 to 100.   The move would allow PH students the same chances for receiving scholarships as other districts.   Action is expected at the next board meeting.

And 2010 Patrick Henry grad, Kendra Powell was recognized for achieving her American FFA degree.
