The Patrick Henry school board of education got an update on the building project approved by voters, which will include the construction of new classrooms at the high school-middle school site. The next step is a bond rating presentation for the administration; which will take place in New York City. The hope is the better rating will give a positive interest rate for financing the project. The Patrick Henry board will also have to decide how the construction will be managed. The first phase will be construction of the new athletic building that will house lockerrooms for visiting football teams, and wrestling activities, along with storage.
Other phases will include the classroom and gym addition.
In personnel action; the Patrick Henry board accepted the resignation of Jason Komick as high school science teacher, with Erin Zimms taking over that slot as a long-term sub.
And Joe Pennington and Debi Bennett were approved as co-assistant athletic directors.
The board approved an overnight trip for the Patrick Henry FFA to attend the national convention in Louisville, Kentucky this fall.
And there was an executive session to discuss a legal matter; but no action was taken.
