After a runoff competition over the weekend; there are now ten ladies from HenryCounty vying for the 2014 Tomato Festival queen scholarship title. Pageant director Deb Nation reports Kaylee Spurgeon has won the runoff for MissBartlowTownship. Laura Yaney will represent FreedomTownship following the Sunday runoff. And Mariah Young won the contest for MissPleasantTownship.
Here are the other ladies running for the Tomato Festival Pageant crown: from Damascus Township-Taylor Johnson, from LibertyCenter village-Jordan Sidel (sy-dell), representing LibertyTownship is Destinie Johnson, the village of Deshler is represented by Bethany Babcock. Also running for the Tomato Festival Pageant is Sarah Volkman from Marion Township, Laney Hanak from the city of Napoleon, and Mallory Michaelis from Monroe Township. The following townships are also seeking ladies to run in the Tomato Festival scholarship pageant: Flatrock, Harrison, Napoleon, Richfield, Washington, and RidgevilleTownships. Any girl that is a high school graduate up through age 23 can participate. The deadline to contact Deb Nation is July 1st.
