The Wauseon school board of education took care of some personnel issues at their Thursday meeting, along with approving an athletic building project.  The proposed athletic building would be paid with donated funds, and would host wrestling practices for middle and high school athletes.  Over 100 volunteers have committed to the project.  Other events planned by the Wauseon Athletic Boosters include an upgrade of the girls softball field, the addition of a press box and lights to the soccer and track complex, improvements to the baseball field and swimming pool, and upgrades to the football field.

The Wauseon schools are working to bring a new technology program to students, providing all students in grades 6 through 12 with Chromebook Devices.  Each student would be responsible for their device, and a $50 per year insurance protection payment.

The Wauseon board approved teaching contracts to Sara Rupp in high school math, and to Derek Eddings in Physical Education at the elementary level.          The board also accepted the resignation of vocal music teacher Jessica Aeschliman .
