MOTORCYCLE CRASHES ON THE RISE

A heat wave in September has kept more motorcycles on the road as the calendar turns to autumn.   That means more contact with other vehicles on the road, and the number of motorcycle fatalities has soared this year.  The highway patrol reports there were 4,235 motorcycle crashes last year in the state, with 203 fatalities.   This year in Lucas County alone, 7 motorcycle operators have lost their lives.
