FILING DEADLINE APPROACHING FOR NOV. BALLOT, FILINGS SO FAR-DEFIANCE COUNTY

The filing deadline is fast approaching for the 2019 November general election ballot.It’s been a busy start for filings at the Defiance County Board of Elections.Five candidates have been certified to the ballot, running for Defiance City Council.They include Stephen Corbett in Ward 1, Angie Miller and John Hancock in Ward 2, Lisa Wiesenhauer for Ward 3, and Christopher Engel has filed for Defiance City Council in Ward 4.

Several issues have also been filed for the November ballot in Defiance County, including a 1% income tax for Ayersville Local School, and a .05% income tax for Central Local School.Defiance County Health District is seeking a renewal levy, and the village of Sherwood has proposed a 1 mill levy for fire protection.

The deadline for candidates and issues to be filed for the November ballot is next Wednesday, August 7th at 4pm at the county board of elections.
