OHIO AND MICHIGAN COMMITTING FUNDS TO STUDY FRESH WATER AQUIFER IN REGION

The states of Ohio and Michigan are committing funds to study the sustainability of the fresh water aquifer that lies beneath the ground where Ohio, Indiana and Michigan come together.That water source supplies many homes, and communities in the region. Defiance County Commissioner Ryan Mack reports ‘this is great news for the tri-state area, including Defiance County; and for the future of the area aquifer.This has been an effort of local officials, to move studies forward so the future of our drinking water remains sustainable.

Ohio is committing $250,000 toward the study, and Michigan will supply a half million dollars for the geological survey of the aquifer.
