DEFIANCE SCHOOL BOARD PURCHASES BUSES, SETS CAFETERIA PRICES, PERSONNEL

The Defiance City School Board worked on bus transportation, cafeteria prices, and personnel during their meeting this week.A grant totaling $60,000is helping the district purchase two new busses, which is about one-third of the total cost.

Defiance School cafeteria prices for adults will go-up 25-cents for the next year, while student prices remain the same.

The closing on the sale of the 1918 Defiance School building downtown was extended until August 1st, due to a variety of factors.

And the board accepted the retirement-resignation of middle school band instructor Kevin Heidbreder, with 21 years in the Defiance district, and from bus driver Laura Hammersmith with 14 year.
