NAPOLEON COUNCIL REVIEWS RECYCLING CONTRACT

If Napoleon is to continue a curbside recycling program it will have to include changes from local residents.  Napoleon Council is looking at specs for a new company to handle the city’s recycling, since the current contract expires in December.   But Napoleon discovered, about 50% of the material put in recycling bins is actually regular garbage.  That costs the city money now in the current contract, and it will cost even more down the line.

Only plastic items labeled as #1 and #2 are recyclable, and no glass is allowed in the recycling for Napoleon.
