AUGUST 2017 UNEMPLOYMENT RATES TUMBLE IN NW OHIO

The unemployment rates for nearly every county in northwest Ohio tumbled downward in the month of August.  Job and Family Services of Ohio released the figures indicating Defiance County was the only county to see an increase, with their jobless number bumping up to 5.4%, just above the state average of 5.3%.

Henry County tied Fulton County both recording unemployment of 4.7% last month, down from 5.1 in July.      Williams County had a rate of 4.5%; while Putnam County again led the region with the lowest jobless rate at 3.6%.                Paulding and Wood Counties each hit 4.8% for unemployment in August.

Around the Buckeye State, Mercer County had the lowest jobless rate at 3.2%, and Meigs County was highest at 8.5%.
