SEPTEMBER 2017 UNEMPLOYMENT RATES

Every county in northwest Ohio saw their unemployment rates surge below the state average during the month of September.   Henry County and Williams County ties for lowest in the Four County area at 3.9%, compared with the state average of 4.7%.   Fulton County hit 4.1% for their jobless rate, with Defiance County at 4.5.            Putnam County had the lowest unemployment in the region at 3.2%, and Wood County was 4.1.

          Around the Buckeye State, the highest unemployment was 7.9% in Trumbull County, while the lowest jobless figures were in Mercer County at 2.8%.    Henry County and Williams County each recorded rates about a half-percent lower than last year at this time, while Fulton and Defiance County were about even with last year.
