You may not realize it; but in some cases, taxpayers dollars have helped fund settlements of sexual harassment cases involving legislators. Congressman Bob Latta has co-sponsored legislation to end that practice, and the bill also includes a provision that would identify anyone that used money from a hush fund that was set-up in Washington for these incidents. The name of the victim would not be made public; but it would allow victims of these sexual harassment cases to make public statements about their claim.
