A move to sell the north-side electric substation in Napoleon is a win for both entities involved. Instead of keeping ownership of the substation, and deal with burdensome requirements coming down the line, Napoleon Council is looking to sell the facility to AMP-Ohio. The city would gain over a half-million dollars in the sale, yet still keep the main electric feed coming into the community. And Napoleon would be able to maintain the substation, and make money while doing it. The positive for AMP is they have a voice in transmission, which will help them in the long run. Napoleon could charge between $20,000 to $40,000 to maintain the substation. Napoleon Council also discussed the outdoor entertainment district downtown, and regulations that go with that. They are looking at ideas from other communities; but eventually this will have to be driven by the private sector, in making petitions for rules and regulations for outdoor food and beverages.
