The question of whether to allow a medical marijuana dispensary in the city of Defiance will likely come back for a vote next week. In a study session Tuesday night, Defiance Council heard from the group interested in bringing a medical marijuana business to the city. When they had finished, council heard from local health officials, law enforcement, and the prosecutor’s office-all addressing reasons why they were against the proposed business. When the discussion was done, Defiance City Council asked their law director to bring legislation to the next meeting to lift the ban on medical marijuana dispensaries. They could vote to lift that ban next Tuesday at Defiance City Hall.
