HOME NEAR AYERSVILLE HIT WITH DAMAGE FROM FIRE

A Saturday morning blaze caused extensive damage to a home near Ayersville.  The Highland Township fire department was dispatched to the residence along state route 15 around 6:30am Saturday, and found flames shooting through the roof.   The fire caused heavy damage in the upper portion of the home, and serious smoke damage throughout the structure.   The Defiance County Sheriff’s office had to remove a subject from the scene who was causing a dangerous situation.     But no injuries were reported.    The state fire marshall’s office was called-in to investigate the cause of the blaze.   Mutual aid was provided by Oakwood, Auglaize fire department, along with Continental volunteers.
