DRUG TAKE-BACK DAY NUMBERS FOR NW OHIO

The numbers are rolling in from the spring version of drug take-back day 2018 in northwest Ohio.  The Multi Area Narcotics Task Force collected outdated and unused pills over the weekend, with close to 660 pounds of medication turned-in across the region.  Williams County collected over 196 pounds, and Defiance County residents brought in 167 pounds of pills.    The collection in Henry County yielded 58 pounds at the sheriff’s office, and another 17 pounds at Napoleon Police.  The combination from Fulton County and Archbold totaled more than 67 pounds.  Putnam County collected 70 pounds of medication.    And there was a record number dropped off in Lucas County, with more than 800 pounds of pills taken-in.   The Henry County Sheriff’s office has a 24 hour drop-off box for outdated and un-used medication.     Those pills are often the target of abusers and criminals looking for something to take, or to sell in trafficking.
