The Defiance County Commissioners got an update from the county board of developmental disabilities, as they seek additional funding this fall. Further financial information was requested by commissioners as the Defiance board of DD will be seeking a levy renewal and increase for operating revenue. Defiance County Commissioners also reviewed a request for funding to update electronic voting machines, with a price tag estimated at over $970,000. There would also be a yearly maintenance cost of over $66,000 for that upgrade. Defiance County is also trying to reduce that expenditure by dropping the number voting locations from 15 down to 8.
