A Defiance man is in custody following a shooting incident in Paulding County. The Paulding County Sheriff’s office is investigating what they called a home invasion reported over the noon-hour Thursday on road 230 near Cecil. The victim was found with gunshot wounds in the house, and was identified as 60 year old Phillip Koenn. He was the lone occupant of the residence. Law enforcement was able to follow some leads through investigative technology, and secured an arrest warrant for 32 year old Michael Kent Loop of Defiance. Loop was taken into custody, and has been charged with one count of Murder. Paulding County Sheriff Jason Landers reports this was a violent crime, and they believe more people may be involved. The highway patrol, and law officers from Defiance and Defiance County assisted. Paulding County is also asking anyone that might have information on this crime from road 230 near Cecil, should contact their office.
