FULTON COUNTY COURTHOUSE RENOVATION UNDERWAY

For the first time in over 145 years, the Fulton County Courthouse is nearly empty, as preparations are underway for an historic renovation project.  During their session last week, Fulton County Commissioners awarded the bid for that renovation to Mosser (mosier) Construction of Fremont, at over 3.8 million dollars.  Pre-construction activities got underway Monday with crews working to remove the Judge’s bench, courtroom seating, the jury box, along with historic photos on the walls.

Funding for the renovation project at the Fulton County Courthouse will come from capital improvement funds, special accounts, and two separate grants from the Ohio Supreme Court, totaling over $122,000.

The original Fulton County Courthouse was constructed in 1872 in Wauseon.
