NAPOLEON COUNCIL TO WAIT ON MOVING TRUCK TRAFFIC

It looks like Napoleon Council is changing their thoughts on moving truck traffic from Perry Street to Scott.  Instead, council will wait and see the impact the new Maumee River bridge will have on downtown truck traffic.

Napoleon’s Municipal Properties Committee is looking to apply for grant dollars to make improvement on Oakwood Avenue.  The project will include some storm drainage work and paving.

An update on the downtown paving project in Napoleon indicates this should be the final week for street shutdowns, weather permitting.  Construction on American Road is also winding down.

And Napoleon Council was informed their community improvement grant was approved at $750,000, rather than the 1.1 million dollars applied-for.   That means some scaling-down of the project, but it will still include sidewalks being installed along Jahns Road for pedestrian safety.  Other phases include a connector sidewalk from Jahns Road to Ritter Park, and connecting Ritter Park to downtown Napoleon.
