The new resource officer for Holgate Schools was introduced at the board of education meeting Monday night. Deputy John Cooper from the Henry County Sheriff’s office will take-over those duties beginning Thursday, and will spend 4 days in the building each week. The other day, DARE Officer Ryan Zumfelde (zoom-feldy) will meet with students.
The Holgate School Board reviewed the five year financial forecast at Holgate, that includes a positive balance all five years. But expenditures begin to outdistance revenue in fiscal year 2022.
The board accepted the resignation of high school secretary Lisa Jones, effective this week. And Ashley Shanks was hired as a part-time playground aide.
The Holgate Board approved an overnight trip to Cincinnati for the choir next May. And the solar energy project is close to completion, and the switchover will happen in the next week or so.
