DEFIANCE COUNTY HEALTH DEPT. CITES NORTHTOWNE MOBILE HOME PARK FOR E-COLI

The Defiance County General Health District has issued an emergency order for the Northtowne Estates Mobile Home Park, located off North Clinton Street in Defiance, due to excessive levels of E-Coli found on the property.The Defiance County Health District reports the E-Coli was found in a back field at the site, and no violations were found in the area of the manufactured homes or lots.The Defiance County Health Board has ordered the mobile home park owner, at their own cost, to have an environmental service contractor remediate and abate the sewage violation within 14 days, and report back to the Health Board.

Caution tape has been put-up surrounding the back field area, and residents should not walk in that area, reports Defiance County Health Commissioner Jamie Gerken.

Diseases acquired from contact with E-Coli can cause stomach illness, skin, eye and other infections.If you have symptoms, contact your healthcare provider.
