DEFIANCE COUNCIL APPROVES PUBLIC RETURNING TO MEETINGS

After rescinding a previous order due to Covid, Defiance City Council is again opening their doors to the public. The measure passed at the Tuesday council session, and will include certain health rules for those that would like to attend.

Defiance Council approved an ordinance to accept the donation of land for the parcel on which a city sewer lift station sits. Another ordinance approved Tuesday night would allow for a contract to construct a multi-use path along Ottawa Avenue, headed southbound to the Spring Meadows neighborhood. That will be built in conjunction with the roundabout project at Ottawa and Cleveland Avenue.

And the city of Defiance has closed on the purchase of the former 1918 school property, located at the south end of the downtown. The price tag was one-dollar, and will now open the door for developers to take a closer look at any potential investment projects.
