NAPOLEON COUNCIL HAS TO RE-BID RITTER PARK PATH PROJECT

It looks like the city of Napoleon may have to back-up and start again on the Ritter Park path project that would install sidewalks for pedestrian safety along West Riverview and Jahns Road to connect families to the park and school.  Napoleon Council was informed that no company submitted bids for the project.

There was only one base bid turned-in for the VanHyning sewer replacement project, with a 2.7 million dollar price tag. That project was awarded to the Vern Nagel Company of Napoleon. It’s a third time this project was put-out to bid.

Napoleon Council approved the purchase of a bucket truck for the electric department at about $192,000, which is under-estimate.

First readings were approved to allow parking along the north side of West Front Street in Napoleon, and to allow the city to be part of ODOT’s cooperative purchase program. That helps in obtaining materials for Napoleon’s crack-sealing program on city streets.                 And third and final readings were approved in pay raises for the law director and city manager for 2022.
